An exceptional Art Nouveau silver brooch featuring a beautiful enamel portrait of a woman adorned in folk clothing with a golden headdress typical of the era.
The portrait is incredibly detailed with the outline of a chrysanthemum flower placed in the background a long with colourful foliage.
The brooch takes clear influence from Alphonse Mucha who was incredibly popular at the time this piece would have been made. The brooch is marked with the silver grade '800' and is German in origin.
There is some wear to the back panel of the brooch which has worn away over time. There is also a tiny bit of wear around the shoulder of the lady.
The wear is only noticeable on close inspection but can be seen by enlarging the photos. The brooch remains in good antique condition overall.
