This is a charming antique mourning brooch from the Georgian era. The brooch showcases exceptional enamel work for a period piece and depicts a lady visiting a companion's gravestone with the two birds atop typically symbolising love, peace and devotion in this scenario. The scene is encased behind a thick layer of glass whilst the reverse side presents an oval opening revealing a lock of the deceased's hair; all of which is contained within an ornate 10ct gold boarder.
